In our previous blog post, we discussed knowing when is the time to have the talk with your elderly loved ones about stopping driving.

However, modern cars are now being equipped with many features that make it easier for seniors to drive safely for longer than in the past. This article by the NWI Times details some of these features.

Several of these features are convenient for any driver, but especially for those in their later years, including:

  • Push button entry/exit
  • Parking aids
  • Blind spot warning
  • Forward collision mitigation

While it’s still very important to gauge the capability of your loved one to drive safely, that day may be prolonged a bit if they are set up with the right kind of vehicle. Consider what aids a new potential car has for older drivers, and help them extend their driving years!
